Master Rastra Rai 6th DAN, President of the Dojang, was there as a chief examiner with his assistance Deepak Gurung 3rd DAN who is Tournament Coordinator for the Dojang and chief instructor of Folkestone branch.
The following Ashford branch’s instructors (except Anil Limbu 4th DAN due to his pre-scheduled commitment) were present at the event:
a. Master Birbahadur Limbu 5th DAN
b. Narendra Rai 4th DAN
c. Ram Prasad Limbu 4th DAN
d. Baljit Limbu 2nd DAN, MiD
e. Bimala Limbu 2nd DAN
There were 21 candidates who took the test and passed successfully.
Master Rastra Rai praised and congratulated presenting them certificates of the Dojang and British Taekwondo along with their new belts.
Prior to taking a group photograph followed by all instructors and masters going out to one of restaurants – Bhansa Ghar – in town centre, four of those candidates were awarded a certificate with a trophy on the following disciplines:
a. Best Kicker – Tanchho Tawa
b. Best in Movement – Ningwa Limbu
c. Best in Poomsae – Emma Akbayrak
d. Best Student – Maliyana Limbu
Finally, he reminded of the upcoming events – Taekwondo demonstration to be performed by the Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang and Zen Martial Arts Academy in Gurkha Cup in Aldershot, UK and Dutch Masters Championship in Netherlands on 27th of May, 2017. Some members of the Dojang, including from Ashford branch, would be taking part in the championship despite the fact that the two events had coincided.
He also emphasised that all students should participate in the Inter-Dojang Koryogi Championships in July as it would be stepping stone for further success.
