The 2017 Scorpion Open Taekwondo Championships had taken place in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England on Sunday, 23 July 2017.Mr Deepak Gurung, coach for the team, had taken three athletes, Mona Ale, Simon Ale and Riyaj Rai, from Maidstone Branch to the tournament.
Mona and Simon bagged a Gold and a Silver medal respectively.
The coach, Mr Deepak Gurung, is a chief instructor of the Folkestone and Dover branches and a Tournament Coordinator of the Sagarmatha Taekwondo Dojang.
